--Beijing Opera: Beijing opera, more commonly known as Peking opera to
westerners, is deemed the national opera of China. The accompanying music,
singing and costumes are all fascinating and artistic. Full of Chinese
cultural facts, the opera presents to the audience an encyclopedia of
Chinese culture as well as unfolding stories, beautiful paintings,
exquisite costumes, graceful gestures and acrobatic fighting.You don't
need to dress up for the Opera, casual or smart casual would be fine.
--Cloisonne Factory: Cloisonne is an intricate and detailed process,
dating back over 700 years, to produce fine enamel on a copper base. You
can watch the workers at all stages of the process to see how these
beautiful objects are produced. There’s a showroom attached for those
who would like a souvenir of the visit, big or small, and all objects are
guaranteed.

--Mutianyu Great Wall(with round way cable car): This less-crowded section
of the Great Wall is a pleasant drive 90km NE of Beijing. A cable car
takes you to a good section (avoiding a very steep climb), where you can
walk along the wall, through the watch towers and enjoy superb views as it
snakes across the hills and mountains. Walk along the wall on your own
interest and return by cable car. Wear good walking shoes and protection
from the weather.

magically built into a near vertical rock face, the whole structure being
supported by nothing more than a few wooden beams.
--The Yungang Grottoes: 16 kilometers west of Datong City.Yungang Grottoes
are the most famous historic site in Datong.
--Shanhua Monastery : located in central Datong within the old city walls.
It was first constructed during the Tang dynasty (618-907AD) though most
of the present wooden building dates back to the 12th century. The temple
houses some intricately carved Jin dynasty (265-420AD) statues and has a
screen wall decorated with dragons.
--Datong Nine-Dragon Screen Wall: In the east of Datong City.It is one of
the four famous nine-dragon screen walls in China.

northernmost part of Jingsheng Village in Lingshi County, Shanxi Province.

--Terracotta Warriors: Discovered accidentally in 1974, this incredible
army of over 7000 soldiers, archers, horses and chariots in full battle
array has guarded Emperor Qin's tomb since 210BC. Each figure is unique,
and the painstaking repair and excavation continues in 3 pits which are
protected inside huge hangars. 1.5 hours from Xian, there is also an
excellent museum and film about the history of the vaults. Photos (no
flash) are allowed. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
--Big Wild Goose Pagoda: A major Buddhist site, the simple, elegant brick
Pagoda stands in the grounds of the attractive Da Ci'en Temple. The Pagoda
was built in the 7th century to house the Buddhist materials that Xuanzang
(Tripitaka) brought back from his epic journey to India. The Temple
complex has several large halls with some great Buddhist statues and
murals.
--Great Mosque: In the heart of Xian's Muslim quarter, close to the city
centre, this is one of the largest Islamic mosques in China. Remarkable
for the combination of Chinese architecture with Islamic practice, the
courtyards align from east to west facing Mecca. The pavilions, halls and
gateways are wonderfully decorated, and this is an active place of worship
for the Hui descendants of Silk Road traders and travelers.
--Muslim Quarters of Xi'an: The Muslim quarters lies 100 meters west of
the Bell tower in downtown Xi'an. The 500 meters long avenue paved by
bluestones are dotted with many unique stall, souvenir shop, café and
bars which are mostly run by Muslim people. Tourists, especially from
overseas come and shop here.

--Monastery of Ten Thousand Years: 1,043 meters above sea level, was built
in the 4th century. It was burned several times in the following
centuries. The present brick building was reconstructed in the Ming
dynasty (1368-1644). The Brick Hall, a domed building with small stupas on
it, was built of bricks. In the hall is a statue of the Bodhisattva.
Puxian on a white elephant, 8.5 meters high, cast in copper and bronze. It
weight is estimated 62,000 kilograms.

--The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yak Meadow): The Jade Dragon Snow
Mountain: It's a snow capped mountain with an altitude of 5596 meters
above sea level. The mountain has 13 peaks of which the highest is 18000
feet above sea level. Its high mountain and meadow views setting off the
snow and rivers, construct amazing picture. It is a large patch of pasture
tucked away hidden amongst a virgin spruce forest on the eastern side of
the Yulong Snow Mountain.
--The Mural in Baisha Village: Baisha village is about 16 kilometers north
of Lijiang City. It is the important birthplace of "Tusi" (the
Chinese word means chieftain of a clan) from Mu clan. Its characteristic
artistic style and precious historic content of the mural deeply attracted
visitors from home and abroad.

--The Stone Forest: A fantastic natural phenomena located 90 km southeast
of Kunming. The various shapes of karst landscape was formed due to the
millions years movement of Earth. The Stone Forest area is the home of the
Sani people, their folk customs has become one spectacular scene, the
colorful embroidery and minority dances combine with the natural
sceneries, which will surely leave you a deep impression.
--Green Lake Park: Located just opposite the Kunming University, it is one
of the most picturesque parks in downtown Kunming. There are nine spring
outlets at north of the lake, so it was also named "Nine Dragon
Pond" in ancient tomes. Here you may take a leisure walk or enjoy the
performance by local people. In November and December every winter, huge
flock of red-beaked gulls migrate here from Siberia, constructing a nice
scene.
--Sani Minority Villages: Around the world renowned Stone Forest clusters
many small Yi ethnic villages which are collectively known as Sanni
Villages. These ancient ideologically isolated villages are famous for
their mystical ancient traditions and beliefs.

--The Dragon Gate on Xishan/West Hill: Located 1.5km west of the Kunming,
the Dragon Gate in Western Hill is close to the Dianchi Lake. This group
of grottoes, sculptures, corridors and pavilions were hacked from the
cliff between 1781 and 1835 by a Taoist monk and his co-workers.
--Taihua Monastery: It is located on the side of the highest peak of the
Xishan Mountain.As a monastery set up by the roving Chan (Zen) sect monk
Xuan Jian in 1306. Well known for its carelessly arranged botanical
gardens and flourishing plants, there's a massive gingko tree near the
entrance which is more than 580 years old, together with other valuable
flowers and trees, consisting a colorful garden.
Note: renovations are underway at the Taihua Hemple in the West Hill,
which may cause inconvenience to travelers. These renovations are expected
to be completed in half a year.
--Huatingsi Monastery: One of the oldest and largest Buddhist complexes in
Kunming. There are 572 painted sculptures and more than 260 stone animals
and birds, which are of marvelous shape and some romantic feel. Still
remained in the temple are 17 stone stele of Ming and Qing Dynasty, along
with 7 tower tombs from Qing Dynasty.
--Xishan Longmen Chair Lift: The Western Hills have the nickname of the
"A Sleeping Beauty Hills". In actuality, the Western Hills is a
forested and lovely park which is perfect, take the cable car to enjoy the
natural sceneres.

--Li River Cruise: A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo
is an unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery
there's something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river.
Between spectacular limestone peaks you'll see graceful bamboo groves,
farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts
or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their
narrow bamboo rafts, and if you're very lucky you might see one of the
famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to
the height of the river at different times of the year.
